Hospitality

The original farmhouse, built in the late 19th century and completely renovated, is located within a natural amphitheatre on sloping hilly slopes completely covered by vineyards.

Our Wines

With the new generations, the wines produced on the Cascina Bertolotto estate have gained an important place in the lists of the best Italian and international restaurants, and in the cellars of those who appreciate the excellent Italian wines.

Origins

Cascina Bertolotto owes its origins to the foresight of Giuseppe Traversa, who at the end of the nineteenth century planted the first grape plants on these hills, encouraged by his uncle Francis.

Walking through the vineyards of the estate

Cascina Bertolotto, an ancient farmhouse located in a natural amphitheatre on disascale hilly slopes, has been lovingly renovated to maintain and implement the charm of its rural character. Guests can enjoy relaxing stays in comfortable en-suite rooms, in an environment where nature trails are easily accessible in and around the 50-acre property, 13 of which are lifed out. In addition to the different types of grapes, Bertolotto also grows forty varieties of medicinal and aromatic herbs from which essential oils are extracted.

The main activities offered to guests include the harvesting of precious grapes and sharing the ancient art of winemaking, the visit to dairies where the renowned cheese of the Acqui Terme region is produced and the Robiola of Roccaverano D.O.P., the search for truffles accompanied by a “trifulau” (truffle hunter), with the help of a truffle dog “tabui” and a small hoe , in addition to the banter in the nearby hunting grounds.

Cascina Bertolotto, located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level and bordering the Lahe region a Unesco World Heritage Site, stands among the hills where the soil has been patiently cultivated over the years by generations of farmers of the Traverse family, grandparents and great-grandparents of the current owners, who have made it a rich and fertile land.

The wine produced in the Bertolotto Estate appears in the wine charts of the best restaurants and in the cellars of the most discerning wine connoisseurs. This success was born from the commitment of the Traversa family in carefully selecting the best grapes, and continues thanks to the richness of their long experience.
